24 Hour Holter Monitoring
This is a test that requires you to come in the morning and have a box attached via 5 leads and electrodes, then remove the next day. It is a 24 hour continuous ECG recording, which is more conclusive than a regular ECG as we can somewhat see how your heart behaves during a normal day.
The box has a button you press when you feel an episode of your symptom/s, and you record in a provided diary the details of your episodes. The recording is then read by one of our cardiologists, and the report is sent out to your referring Doctor.
This test is useful for assessing symptoms of palpitations, atrial fibrillation and blackouts, and also occasionally for congenital heart disease.
