Dr Ashok Gangasandra is an Interventional cardiologist trained in Canada. He completed his physician training in 2001 in India and then moved to UK in 2004. He gained valuable experience in Cardiff, Wales and Scotland. He moved to Australia in 2006 and completed internal medicine at Westmead Hospital, Sydney in 2008. Cardiology trainings was at Townsville and Gold Coast Hospitals finishing 2011. Interventional cardiology and CT coronary angiography was conducted at the esteemed McMaster University, Canada. He had excellent clinical training in complex coronary imaging and interventions and was actively involved in clinical research.
He is a well experienced cardiologist with an extensive general medicine background. His main area of expertise is in the management (both invasive and non-invasive strategies) of acute coronary syndromes (heart attacks). He performs coronary angiograms, angioplasties with and without stenting; complex coronary interventions; intra-coronary imaging with IVUS, OCT and FFR. Other areas of interest include CT coronary angiography, echocardiogram, cardiac monitoring and stress testing. Dr Gangasandra also has rooms at John Flynn Hospital providing both inpatient and outpatient services.
